The Colour of Classics series was created in 1998 to celebrate the centenary of the Deutsche Grammophon label. This 1999 box set features Ferenc Fricay conducting the Radio-Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6; Herber von Karajan leading the Berliner Philharmoniker in Strauss' Don Quixote; and Carlos Kleiber conducting the Vienna Philharmonic in Beethoven's 7th Symphony.
