    Reviews :

“It has taken more than 40 years for one of the most beautiful concerts of the "Divine" Sarah Vaughan, completely new, to be published

It is 10 p.m. on August 5, 1975 when Sarah Vaughan enters the stage at Singer Hall in Laren, Netherlands. At her side: Pianist Carl Schroeder, with whom she played for more than 20 years, double bassist Bob Magnusson, formidable sought-after sideman (more than 150 albums to his credit!) and finally one of the most subtle drummers in history jazz: Mr Jimmy Cobb, who we remember, was Miles Davis' drummer from 1958 to 1962, participating in particular in the recording of the masterpiece: Kind of Blue (1959).

The one who has been nicknamed throughout her career: "The Divine" is in 1975 a 51-year-old woman who is at the height of her talent, her energy, and her splendour. Her range is always exceptional

A long sigh: “It's so hot in here! She provokes, seduces, conquers. The titles are linked restoring the power of "Round Midnight", the tenderness of "there will never be another you", the strength of "Everything must change" and the nostalgia of the end of the medley by the poignant "Moonlight in Vermont". . An ultimate “Tenderly”. She leaves as she entered: Shy, reserved, almost transparent. Under the ovations.

This fabulous concert "Live at Laren Jazz Festival 1975" is completely new." Place des Librairies
