"Trumpeter Allan Botschinsky (doubling on flugelhorn) teams up with bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen for a set of sparse yet swinging duets. The repertoire is quite strong as the two Scandinavians explore five originals (four by the trumpeter), "My One and Only Love," "St. Louis Blues," Lee Konitz's "Subconscious Lee," "Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair" and jazz adaptations of a couple of folk songs. The improvisations are concise (none of the pieces exceed five minutes) yet are quite complete. Overall this is one of Botschinsky's finest sessions." AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow
