    Reviews :

This 1970 album, Marrakesh Express, sees master saxophonist Stan Getz cover hits of the day with Beatles producer George Martin at the controls. Getz tries his hand at songs by Paul Simon, Bacharach-David, a heartfelt take on Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" and Graham Nash's title track.

“Not one of Stan's greatest albums, but one that's got some pretty wonderful moments! The album features larger arrangements by Richard Hewson, set to production by George Martin -- done in an easy jazzy style, with Stan out front on lead solo, blowing in a mellow way, as he did on albums of the sort done for Verve in the late 60s. A few of the tracks are a bit sleepy, but there's some well-chosen pop tunes that provide a whole new vehicle for Getz's always-great tone. Titles include "Without Her", "Cecilia", "Marrakesh Express", "The April Fools", and "Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head".” Dusty Groove
