Reviews:

“Even though her self-titled debut, Pebbles, went platinum, the singer wasn't entirely satisfied with the results and vowed to work even harder on her second album. Her driving ambition comes through on "Giving You the Benefit." Like her first hit, "Girlfriend," it was written and produced by L.A. & Babyface. They enlisted Deele bass player Kayo and for background vocals brought in Natisse "Bambi" Jones and members of After 7. From her gold album Always, "Giving You the Benefit" stayed at number one R&B for three weeks, going to number four pop in the fall of 1990. After having huge success as a recording artist and discovering and managing TLC, Pebbles left the music business in the late '90s for the ministry.” AllMusic Review by Ed Hogan
