Reviews:

It's been done before...but never like this. Sir Roland Hanna Trio brings the classic tune Gabriel Faure's "Apres Un Reve" to life in their album of the same name, recorded in 2002.

Roland Hanna studied classical piano from the age of 11, but it was his buddy, pianist Tommy Flanagan, that later introduced him to jazz in early adulthood. After a brief stint in the military, he went on to music school and then began his career, working with several big names in the 1950s, including Benny Goodman and Charles Mingus. He toured the Soviet Union with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra in 1972.

With more than 2,000 albums to his credit, bassist Ron Carter has recorded with many of music's greats including Lena Horne and B.B. King. In the 60s, he performed throughout the United States in concert halls and nightclubs with Jaki Byard and Eric Dolphy.

Grady Tate has pulled double-duty as a jazz performer. After making a name for himself as a successful jazz drummer (appearing with the likes of Quincy Jones and Aretha Franklin) he, in recent years, has stepped front and center as a jazz vocalist.

Enjoy the trio as a whole as they bring selections like "Serenade" and "Going Home" to jazz lovers everywhere in Apres Un Reve.
